Josefin Sockertopp (23) and Sonnie Gustavsson (29), a loving couple from Sweden, have formalized their relationship in marriage in the Klingon tradition and language. The ceremony was held in the "Star Trek - conference" in London last night.
The Swedish couple prepared for the event by making matching costumes and learning the Klingon alien language.
The Swedish loving couple, Josefin Sockertopp, 23, and Sonnie Gustavsson, 29, travelled from Sweden to London to exchange their vows at the first official Star Trek convention in Britain for more than 10 years.
The ceremony took place at east London's ExCel Centre in full Klingon costume, to the sound of a drum. The couple exchanged vows, swearing to unite against all their opponents.

The ceremony was concluded with a Klingon cry which translates as "life, honour, success".
- I've been a fan of Star Trek since I was little. The Klingons are strong characters and they bond together. The ceremony was really fun, said Sonnie Gustavsson.
His bride said she had to be persuaded to have a Klingon wedding but did not regret it.
- I hadn't seen Star Trek until I met him. He introduced me to it and it was really good. The ceremony was his idea. I thought about it a lot and then I said "let's do it", it's a once in a life time thing she said.
The celebrant, Peter Wyllie, conducted the wedding ceremony and included some phrases in Klingon.
- That was a bit of a challenge and I hope I got some of the sounds right. I had it written phonetically, so that made it a little easier, he said, adding that it sounded similar to the Welsh language.
According to the Earthlings documentary movie about the Klingon language, a small number of people, mostly dedicated Star Trek fans or language aficionados, can speak in Klingon. Its vocabulary is centered on Star Trek concepts such as "spacecraft". Which in turn can sometimes make it cumbersome for everyday use. For example, while there are words for "transporter ionizer unit" (jolvoy) or "bridge" (of a ship) (meH), there is currently no word for "bridge" as in crossing over water.
