Bergen: Job Vacancies - mother language teachers.

Bergen municipality is looking for mother language teachers for pupils with the following languages:

Akan/Twi, Amharic, Arabic, Bhasa-Indonesia, Bulgarian, Burmese, Danish, EWE, Malagasy, Icelandic, Italian, Karen, Chinese-Mandarin, Kinyrwanda, Korean, Kunama, Kurdish-Kurmanci, Lao, Lingala, Lithuanian, Luganda, Malagasy, Macedonian, Mandingo, Nepali, Oromo, Somali, Tagalog, Tamil,
Thai, Tigrina, Ugur and Ukrainian.

Position sizes varies from 10-100% depending on the number of pupils. The teaching may take place at several schools within the municipality, depeneded on pupils' schedule.

Requirements for qualifications:
- Pedagogical Education: Pedagogical education from abroad must be approved by the Directorate of Education/NOKUT. Applications not containing this authorization will not be processed.
- Documented good Norwegian language skills similar to "good grade" in written and oral Norwegian according to Test in Norwegian - higher level ("Bergen test" ).

Apply for jobs:
Use electronic application to apply for positions. Applications will be registered at the Bergen municipality dep. for kindergarten and school. It the base schools task to call for interview. When filling the electronic form, specify under comments which language/s you can teach and confirm that you have approved education from Education/NOKUT.
Application deadline: 29 May 2010.

Tips:
- We recommend applicants to register as members in a union before sending the application. It is also recommended to contact your union representative in the current base school in advance. You can register online at: Utdanningsforbundet or Skoleneslandsforbund[url].
