(Morsmal.org) Election 2013: Why do immigrants vote for their party?
- We will allow asylum seekers to work while waiting for a response, and believes that asylum children who have been in Norway for 3 years or more should join, says Heikki Eidsvoll Holmås from the Socialist Left Party in Oslo in an interview with morsmal.org
Morsmal.org has invited the top candidates from Oslo to give five good reasons why immigrants should vote for their party. Each day leading up to Election Day on 9 September, we will publish the answers here on Election 2013 - opinions .
Today's guest is Heikki Eidsvoll Holmås from the Socialist Left Party. Read his answers below:
1 SV's goal is a multicultural society without discrimination. We want room for inequality; work simultaneously in order for society to be built on common and absolute values of democracy, equality, anti-racism, human rights, freedom of expression and fair distribution.
2 SV stands for a human, jointly and severally, directly secure and fair asylum and immigration policy. We will allow asylum seekers to work while waiting for a response, and believes that asylum children who have been in Norway for 3 years or more must join. SV will not limit the right to family reunification in terms of requirements of residence, work, economics or similar.
3 Norwegian labor market should be safe, equal and provide work for all. SV's goal is a workplace with good wages and working conditions where steady jobs and full-time rule a right.
4 SV will ensure that teachers have adequate time to follow up our children need the Oslo School of fewer tests and more teachers. SV will have a teacher norm that ensures that there are enough teachers per student. SV will facilitate a more convenient and varied school day.
5 SV want politicians to take back control of the housing market, so that everyone can have a safe home. Today there are far too expensive to buy and rent a place to stay. Politicians must take greater responsibility for increased housing construction, not hand over housing policy to the market alone.
